Is blood donation harmful to a person's health?

There's an unintended situational consequence that hasn't really been addressed; The other answers cover everything differently veritably well.

This is when people line up to contribute inclusively after a major tragedy. Be it a firing, or a strong storm, or a terrorist attack, and everyone wants to help, so they contribute blood. The problem is that blood banks generally have fairly good reserves. If it's temporary also they can handle the unforeseen affluence of cases. What really flushes the blood banks are (pun intended) chronically ill cases. They're on chemotherapy or dialysis and need a blood transfusion every many weeks to survive.
After a big painful incident, people feel that they've done their duty by giving blood. So after that for some time they do not contribute. And blood banks are taking notice. In a many weeks, they will not have as important blood as they typically would because the blood products can not last ever. They can be stored in the refrigerator for about 6 weeks, but freezing will damage the cells. In such a situation, cases of habitual conditions suffer.

Unfortunately, this was fully proven after9/11. Everyone went to contribute blood. But it was of no use. Survivors of the attack ran out of structures and were treated for minor injuries. Maybe some had broken branches, but those who couldn't run disappeared. I now live in Boston and I have heard stories of how MGH was ready to take on a bunch of deliverance breakouts, believing that New York would be overwhelmed. but no bone showed up. Therefore, unfortunately, the affluence of patron blood didn't help and was eventually ruined.
Decided to partake a painful yarn. Contribute blood wheneverpossible. However, you may be suitable to get it formalized, If the Red Cross tells you that you have a rare blood type. My father tested negative for a contagion called CMV, which affects about 95 of grown-ups. Unseasonable babies and babe shouldn't be given CMV because their vulnerable systems are naive, so any grown-up who isn't susceptible would be a serious commodity.

But if, like me, you are 10 pounds below your limit, BP low enough that educated IRs can blow my jitters, there are plenitude of other ways to help.
